City of Trees: First Week in Solace

While traveling into Solace, the party met Lindvai, Cecil's colleague and fellow merchant. From there, they met a local farmer, Rigney. He offered the party a lift into the city. Ryai offered to trade the radishes for coin down the line.

 At the entrance of Solace, they meet the guard's captain, Oroana. She gives them a rather curt greeting.

They make their way to Home of the Last Inn. They are greeted by Owner Otik and barmaid Tikka. From there, they meet a stranger named Vodren by the fire. He regales the account of what happened to the last party at the Inn, with their cleric healing the hand of the High Seeker Hederick and the Seeker labeling them as heretics, forcing them to flee. Since then, the seeker's presence has been on high alert.

Vodren also reveals himself to the party as a Cleric of the old gods, following Habakkuk, the god of animals. He has taken an oath not to eat meat or use animals.

While they spend time in the Inn, Ryai and Konguq introduce themselves to the local wizard, Allon. He offers them training in magic from his spellbook. Ryai takes him up on an education offer, just more scholarly than magical.

Also, they meet Saava, one of Solace's nobles and drunkards, in the Inn.

Lord Mayor of Solace Branton Reese makes his entrance to the Inn. He asks the party if they have met a young elf woman on their travels. Ryai denies seeing her, and Allon gains insight into Ryai's person.

While doing some shopping, Ryai and Ace meet the young curt blacksmith Billie Hobhater. She tells of her former dead mentor, Flint Fireforge, and her struggles with running the forge.

Konguq and Vodren meet the potion Merchant Marble. She reveals to both of them that she still follows the god Sirrion.

Looking for information on how to train his insight, Ace is given a lead to the local fight club. The party attends, and they meet Volro and Torra, hobgoblins who run the club.

Ace gives Vorlo the code word he was given to find a mentor but is met with confusion from Vorlo. Ace and Vodren decide to enter the ring. Ryai got high with Vorlo.

Ace's opponent was Rigney's wife. Vodren went toe to toe with Torra. Ace beat her with his daggers, and Vodren got pummeled by Torra.

That night, Onsen, leader of the thieves' guild, met Ace in his room at the Inn. He gave him the lowdown on how things work in Solace and offered to teach him a few things.

Ace and Konguq start training at the fighting ring. Ace mentions his rough home life when sparring with Torra, talking with her about how his father never held back when it came to beating him.

Ryai spent the week reading in Allon's library. His familiar, a scorpion, watched him.
